What You Should Know
All tours and programs are FREE of charge.
All tours and programs are offered in Canada’s official
languages: English and French.
Tickets are distributed on a first come, first served basis.
All visitors to the Parliament Buildings (Centre Block
and East Block) are required to go through a security screening
system similar to those used in airports.
Throughout the summer, the best time to obtain same-day
tickets is between 9 am and 10 am. Please note that visitors
cannot be guaranteed a tour on any given day. You may want
to consider selecting a tour time in the late afternoon or
evening when crowds tend to thin. During the spring and fall,
weekends are also quite busy - afternoons are best then too!
When Parliament is sitting, tours do not go to the Senate
and House of Commons chambers. However, you are invited to
go on your own and watch the proceedings from the Public Galleries.
The House of Commons offers an audio guide in the galleries
which explains what is going on and describes the art and
architecture of the Chamber.
Parliamentary activities may affect the duration and content
of tours and programs. Schedules are subject to change
without notice.
