A celebration of the creative spirit at all stages of life, ‘Ageless’ is the joie de vivre, the playfulness, and the risk to try something completely new and put it into an expressive visual form. ‘Ageless’ brings together the works of both resident’s and instructor’s in the Creative Arts Program at the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre. The result is a cornucopia of colour and form and a celebration of the creative impulse which is ….Ageless
Creative Arts Service at the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre is staffed by practicing, exhibiting artists, and is unique in its approach to enabling budding artist residents at the Perley Rideau, to create works in many media, including: acrylic and silk painting, printmaking, ceramics, pottery, and woodworking. Creative Arts Service also offers Music Therapy, Horticultural Therapy as well as Dance therapy. All are underlined with a strong belief in the Arts as a healing tool and a force for ensuring wellness.
As artists working in Healthcare we believe that actively participating in the arts is a constructive, joyful, and health-giving activity that connects us to the world.
The Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Care Centre is a 450 bed Long Term Care home in Ottawa. Creative Arts Service is funded by Veterans Affairs Canada and the Perley Rideau Foundation.
